Info about Tameka

Ambitious and bright, Tameka Jacobs has beat the odds, and managed to win the love of millions of viewers each week as briefcase model #21 on NBC hit show “Deal or No Deal”. Even in Los Angeles, where the beautiful and talented are a dime a dozen, sometimes you do find that special woman with a rare combination of looks and talent that radiates superstar.

Jacobs was born in the small California town of French Camp and at age 3 was the center of a racially charged custody battle.

Tameka’s groundbreaking story was featured in People Magazine, Inside Edition, Extra and Star Magazine.

Tameka beat all odds and was adopted by a beautiful Bay Area family that too saw a shine in her. She was quickly enrolled in jazz, tap and ballet classes where she studied dance for all of her adolescent life.

Coupled with classes in acting, modeling and public speaking, Tameka became a force to be reckoned with.

While living in the Bay Area, Tameka got the opportunity of a lifetime when she became the morning news and traffic reporter for one of San Francisco’s highest-rated radio stations, KYLD 94.9. She did radio in the mornings, and used the rest of the day to continue her modeling and dance career by booking jobs in catalogs, magazines, television commercials, live shows, and music videos. A few years into her internship she relocated to Los Angeles.

Within weeks of being in Hollywood Tameka was able to secure the leads in high fashion editorials, music videos, commercial print work and also took part in an Apple iPod’s first worldwide silhouette campaign. She is featured in runway shows by fashion favorites Joy Han and British Vogue’s Deborah Lindquist. Since she has graced the pages of YRB Magazine as their 2006 US representative for “The Color of Beauty” feature.

However, the glitz and glam of Tameka’s rising stardom have not gone to her head. This beauty keeps her feet planted firmly on the ground by using her own successful life as an inspiration, and continues her work with girls and young women in foster homes and adoption agencies.

This dynamo wants to do it all and continues to prove she can. Model/Actress/Host/Personality, there is no doubt that we will see Tameka in the next few years either starring in a Hollywood blockbuster film, playing the lead in a hit television show, or hosting her own show because she has been built for stardom.

FROM MYSPACE:

About me:
I was born in the small California town of French Camp and at age 3 was the center of a racially charged custody battle. My groundbreaking story was featured in People Magazine, Inside Edition, Extra and Star Magazine. I beat all odds and was adopted by a beautiful Bay Area family that too saw a shine in me. My parents quickly enrolled me in jazz, tap and ballet classes where I studied dance for all of my adolescent life. Coupled with classes in acting, modeling and public speaking, I knew where I was going with it. While living in the Bay Area, I got the opportunity of a lifetime and became the morning news and traffic reporter for one of San Francisco’s highest-rated radio stations, KYLD 94.9. I did radio in the mornings, and used the rest of the day to continue my modeling and dance career by booking jobs in catalogs, magazines, television commercials, live shows, and music videos. A few years into the internship I relocated to Los Angeles. Within weeks of being in Hollywood I was able to secure the leads in high fashion editorials, music videos, commercial print work and also took part in an Apple iPod’s first worldwide silhouette campaign. Being featured in runway shows by fashion favorites Joy Han and British Vogue’s Deborah Lindquist was a blessing as well. Since then I’ve graced the pages of YRB Magazine as their 2006 US representative for “The Color of Beauty” feature. I’ve also did a few short films. And of coursed scored with NBC’s Deal or No Deal as the only model to carry briefcase number twenty-one. I try not to let the glitz and glam go to my head. I keep my feet planted firmly on the ground by using my own successful life as an inspiration for girls and young women in foster homes and adoption agencies. I try to take part in as many programs for adoption as I can because being adopted changed my life. God knows where I would be without my parents. I want to do it all and have done pretty good proving I can. Model/Actress/Host/Personality… You’ll see me in the future… I know it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Contrary to popular belief failure is a pre-req for success. However, there is no excuse for not trying. Lack of effort guarantees failure. Therefore, keep pushing and success will be inevitable. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
